The New 10 Commandments

I recently attended The Knowing Ways International Conference of Art and Human Rights that was held in Edinburgh. Nick Higgins presented the short film ‘The right to not be Tortured’ the work was created as part of a larger collaborative project. The films subtilty presents and raises multiple questions about the varied levels, effects and forms torture can be inflicted.

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Scottish Documentary Institute & Lansdowne Productions have created a documentary made up of 10 short films

The filmmakers and visual artists are based in Scotland today. Collectively they created the feature length documentary, the New Ten Commandments – a comment on Human Rights from a Scottish perspective.
